Best Of Best Swimming Series On Saturday
Swimmers will take to the pool on Saturday [Feb 23] to take part in the first Best Of Best Swimming Series of the year. Athletes will be looking to cement their place in the standings with many of them attempting to get qualifying times that will allow them to participate in the CARIFTA games later in the year.
National Swimming Coach Ben Smith said, “We have the first of the Best of Best series swimming meet this Saturday, February 23rd. The Best of the Best series consists of a total of three swim meets spread over several weeks.
“This week’s swim meet will be held at the Warwick Academy Pool and will begin at 8:30am. Swimmers will be looking to become the eventual age group winners of this series, in addition to which, many of them will be attempting to get qualifying times [or additional qualifying times] that will allow them to participate in the CARIFTA games in Jamaica later in the year.”
Following this Saturday’s meet there will be a development meet at 12.00pm for the younger swimmers. Next week Saturday, March 2nd there will be another qualifying meet at Warwick Academy Pool, at 12.00pm noon.
Good luck to all the swimmers out there. This is gonna be tough on some of them.
