Call For Non-Fiction Book Submissions

May 15, 2013

The Department of Community & Cultural Affairs has put out a call for submissions for its upcoming “Bermuda Anthology of Memoir & Creative Non-Fiction” from authors who are Bermudian or Bermuda residents.

Writers may submit more than one piece of previously unpublished work. And if their work is selected, writers must be available to participate in any requested revisions and editing of their material for inclusion in the “Anthology.”

All submissions will be reviewed by an independent agent for literary merit and all decisions by the agent regarding inclusion in the anthology are final.

All submissions must be typed, single-sided, double spaced, and be no more than 4000 words, with the first page including the title of the story, the writer’s name and contact information, including email address.

Submissions should also include a signed copy of a release form authorising publication. Release forms are available from kdrobinson@gov.bm, www.communityandculture.bm or can be collected from the department’s offices at 58 Court Street.

Each writer’s work will be credited with a byline and a short biography, and each writer will receive one free copy of the “Anthology.”

All submissions are due by Wednesday, June 19 and can be emailed to Folklife Officer Dr. Kim Dismont Robinson on kdrobinson@gov.bm or delivered to Bermuda Anthology c/o Dr. Kim Dismont Robinson, Dept. of Community & Cultural Affairs, #58 Court Street, 4th Floor, Hamilton HM 12.

For more information, contact 292-1681 or kdrobinson@gov.bm.
