Summer Events Planned For Rosalie Gardens
A number of events are getting set to take place from May to September at Rosalie Gardens, with fundraisers supporting the charity Overcoming Obstacles.
Dale Butler said, “As the Chief Executive of Atlantic Publishing House, I am pleased to announce our May to September line up of creative and dynamic cultural activities at the award-winning Rosalie Gardens – Bermuda First House of Music – 35 Angle Street in the Heartbeat of Hamilton. All fundraisers will again support the charity Overcoming Obstacles.
“In an effort to highlight the importance of local music, the theme chosen this year is ‘Four Day Morning’ by the great Four Deuces, who were a very popular group during the 1950s. The song places special emphasis on the importance of having all local entertainers play more local music to educate the current public and to show respect to musicians who played a critical part in the building of our hospitality industry.
“On Monday, May 4th at 5.30pm, there will be a book launch honouring the legendary Wendell ‘Shine’ Hayward, whose 70th birthday party on February 14th was captured by two photographers and can be ordered: Book One: His Early Life and Book 2: The February 14th Birthday Show. The launch event will take place at Rosalie Gardens.
“Additional dates will be forthcoming concerning:
- 1. Flip the Script: a documentary highlighting the late Larry Scott and his controversial book It’s Only 4%
- 2. A tribute to local musicians
- 3. A new play entitled Choy and Nina: The Concert that Burned, the Tribute that Raised Hell
- 4. The release of The Bermuda Book Basket
“Please note that private functions are not reported in this report as they will be done by the organizers themselves, so their dates will not be listed here.
