Meet Miss Sandys: Jahshuntae Darrell
In the fourth of a series of profiles of contestants, Bernews today spotlights Jahshuntae Darrell who is representing Sandys Parish in the Miss Bermuda Pageant, which will be held on June 23rd.
Miss Darrell attended Bermuda Institute and said she is intent on attending La Sierra University to study pediatrics this fall. She earned her high school diploma with a 3.5 grade point average, was placed on honor roll during various semesters in high school and was nominated for a sports award during high school.
Asked why she entered Miss Bermuda, the 21-year-old said, “I entered the Miss Bermuda pageant to gain exposure to do something new which my country offers ladies aged between 17-24. It’s a totally different experience and is something I very much enjoy being a part off thus far”.
“I have enjoyed many aspects of the pageant. Getting to meet the ladies and learn how to present myself in front of crowds as well as the modeling and hospitality aspects by far has been such a rewarding experience for me. I look forward to competing next Sunday in the pageant where I’d be up against Bermuda’s best”.
“Special people I’d like to thank are my mother Ms. Latricka Richardson and all my family and friends who’ve supported me since my decision was confirmed to be a contestant in the Miss Bermuda Pageant 2013.
“If you are looking for a different scenery and a good relaxing atmosphere where class and epic moments are met then I simply take this time to encourage you to attend this pageant. It’s definitely going to be worth it this year”, concluded Miss Darrell.
The 2013 Miss Bermuda Pageant is scheduled to take place Sunday June 23rd, at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel where reigning queen Rochelle Minors will crown her successor. Tickets are on sale now here on bdatix.bm, with ticket prices starting from $65. View all our Miss Bermuda coverage here.
