BELCO Advisory On Island Wide Survey
BELCO announced that its crews have started work on a six-week, Island-wide survey of the entire overhead distribution system to update the company’s Geographical Information System [GIS] database.
A spokesperson said, “To access poles, BELCO crews may need to enter private property in some areas. Residents are asked to keep dogs restrained, so that crews may complete the survey. Residents will be contacted to arrange access, if surveyors have been unable to access a property.
“BELCO advises the public that its surveyors may be driving private vehicles or company trucks, and can be identified by their BELCO work clothing and company ID cards. BELCO crews will be surveying during normal working hours, Mondays-Fridays, with the project scheduled for completion around Labour Day.”
