Canadian Age Group Championships Continues

Bermudian swimmer Madelyn Moore broke her own age group record by 2/10th’s of a second while competing in the Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships in Montreal, Canada.

Bermuda National Swimming Coach Ben Smith said, “The Bermuda team at the Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships in Montreal, Canada continued to perform well as Madelyn Moore and Jesse Washington mixed it up with the best swimmers in Canada.

“They both competed in the 50 freestyle on Friday, with Moore advancing out of the morning heats in third place for the evenings final.”

“Washington swam a very controlled race as he set the pace for the final by securing the number one position.

He continued, β€œIn the evening’s final events, Madelyn swam a 27.68, breaking her own age group record by 2/10th’s of a second to place 5th; whilst Jesse also set a new age group record with a swim of 25.20 for 4th place, missing a podium finish by 1/100th of a second.”

“These two will be back in action Saturday morning and will be joined by Emma Harvey as all three compete in the 100 backstroke and Jesse also contests the 200 freestyle”.
