Man Flees Scene After Stealing Cigarettes
[Updated] A man fled the scene of a Front Street store on a motorcycle after stealing two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes yesterday morning.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 10:30am on Wednesday, August 28th police officers responded to a report of an unknown male stealing two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes from Onion Jack’s Trading Post on Front Street in the City of Hamilton.
“The suspect appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s and is further described as brown complexioned with no facial hair, tall of slim build wearing a white T-shirt, light coloured long pants, a helmet and sunglasses.
“He fled the scene on a nearby motorcycle heading east along Front Street. The sales clerk was not injured.
“Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Denise Downey on 295-0011.”
Updated Sept 5: A police spokesperson said, “A 53 year old Hamilton parish man has been arrested in connection with the reported attempted theft and theft of cartons of cigarettes from at least two stores. Inquiries are ongoing”.

He won’t need to deck out, at this rate cancer might get him first, I heard of stealing but this I got to say is one of Bermuda’s well I never.
In reality that’s probably the only way he would get caught
It seems the sin tax increase on cigarettes has pushed some to the breaking point. Surely the elimination of this vice will reap benefits for both your wallet and your health (and your freedom should be be caught stealing).
It’s the perfect time to quit.
