10th Named Storm Of Season Forms In Atlantic

Tropical Storm Jerry — the tenth named storm of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season — has formed in the Atlantic, however is not a threat to Bermuda at this time.

The Bermuda Weather Service said that its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 836 nm to the ESE at 9am on Thursday [Oct 3].

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the storm had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, and is about 1200 miles east-southeast of Bermuda and moving toward the east at 7 mph.
