Sergeant, Inspector: 11 Police Officers Promoted
At a ceremony held at Police Headquarters in Prospect Devonshire on Wednesday [Sept 25] eleven officers were promoted, five to the rank of Sergeant and six to the rank of Inspector.
Dignitaries in attendance at the promotion ceremony were Governor George Fergusson, Minister of Public Safety Michael Dunkley, Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, Deputy Commissioner Mike Jackman, Assistant Commissioner Paul Wright and Assistant Commissioner Antoine Daniels.
In addition, family, friends and colleagues of the officers being promoted filled the Police Recreation Club hall to show their support.
Promotions to Sergeant: Sergeant Karema Flood, Sergeant Shakisha Minors, Sergeant Shawnta Edmonson, Sergeant Wang Sonson, Sergeant Derrick Golding.
Promotions to Inspector: Inspector Arthur Glasford, Inspector David Geraghty, Inspector Derricka Burns, Inspector Colin King, Inspector Scott Devine, Inspector Peter Stableford.
On behalf of the senior officers, all ranks and staff of the Bermuda Police Service, the Commissioner of Police offerrd congratulations and best wishes to the five recently promoted Sergeants and six recently promoted Inspectors in their new rank.

Sergeants promotions all foreign save one exception ;-( I guess we’re comfortable making 70K
actually, that’s not correct – 3 of the 5 are local.
actually there are 4 local officers in the Sgt promotion and 2 in the Inspectors.

It’s incredible that the mentality still exist where we believe just because we are bermudian, gives an advantage. It’s boils down to performance and recognition. Promotions and such has nothing to do with culture.
