Video: New ’300′ Trailer Features Lena Headey

Bermuda born actress Lena Headey, best known for her role as Queen Cersei Lannister in HBO’s popular Game of Thrones series, will be reprising her role as Queen Gorgo of the Spartans in the upcoming sequel 300: Rise of an Empire, and the film’s latest trailer shows off her character extensively.

The international trailer, released last month, gives Headey the spotlight alongside other characters who will tell the story of the Persian king Xerxes in a tale that runs parallel with the original 300, released in 2007. Set during Xerxes’ effort to conquer Greece with his massive army, the film focuses on the Greek attempt, lead by famed general Themistocles, to repel the Persian forces, with the Spartan army playing a leading role.

300: Rise of an Empire, directed by Noam Murro and also starring Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, will make its way to theatres on March 7, 2014.
