24 Hour Tigermarket Gas Station Out Of Gas

October 15, 2013

[Updated: The station now has gas]

As of 7.30am this morning [Oct 15] the Esso City Tigermarket on Richmond Road, colloquially known as the 24 hr gas station, is out of gas again. According to an attendant, they have diesel, but are out of ‘regular gas’, and are waiting for a delivery which should be arriving soon.

  1. Mr. Meoff says:

Pay your bills. If your not out of gas then your flooded after heavy rains. Fix your drainage problem and fill your tanks. Union Gas always have gas and they dont flood.

  2. Stop Complaining for 1 Second says:

I hope Mr. Premier runs the country better than he runs the gas station

    • Really?? says:

At Stop Complaining for 1 second……Maybe Mr. Cannonier or whomever is the comptroller for the company, needs to pay the bills first before they deliver the gas!!! *raised eyebrow*

    • haha says:

Stop complaining for 1 second…..nuff said.

    • Really? says:

you’re funny, cool name. premier doesn’t run the gas station though.

  3. Vote for Me says:

It will be interesting to see the posts for this story today.

The question is, why can’t they schedule deliveries correctly. Do any of the other independent stations have this problem?

    • LaVerne Furbert says:

All of the stations are independent. The BIU Gas Station has never had that problem. Once you pay ESSO delivers.

      • Not buying it says:

All of the stations ARE NOT independent, and to be perfectly honest BIU is not operated under the same terms as 24hr

    • Really? says:

      hmmmm. independent from who?

    • Really? says:

ok, ok…..what i meant by “independent from who?” was….regardless of who runs/owns/is employed by…..all the juice would still come from the same source, no? not so independent after all, right? maybe then the “issue” is a discrepancy of sorts at the source? hmmm….time will tell.

  4. Really?? says:

Out of gas again??!!! This a constant re-occurance at this place! I very rearly support them anymore due to the frustration and constant inconvenience caused. You go there and their either out of gas or no pump attendants(or one one pump attendant) in the yard to serve you when it’s busy, then they stand up and talk to people instead of serving gas to get ppl in and out of the gas station. It’s frustrating and annoying and I’ve seen many customers leave without getting gas says they’ll go somewhere else. It’s no wonder the establishment is going dwn hill.

At Vote for Me – A couple of years ago, another gas station was always running out of gas. Same situation. An inside source mentioned that they weren’t paying their bills, that’s why they were refused delivery. This may very well be the case at 24 hr! Own by Craig Cannonier – go figure!

I’ve resorted now to the gas station on South Shore in Warwick. Good efficient staff, get people in and out when it’s busy, a wait of no more than 5 mins when it’s extremely busy. Try there……you’ll be quite satisfied!! I am…….!!!!

  5. Reverse Sweep says:

I would understanding this gas station running out of gas as it is open 24hours unlike other gas stations. This is the most frequented service station on the island.

    • Really? says:

…hear you on the reverse and that’s a thought buuuut…..all of them know when gas is low. their open hours don’t matter at all actually. more than likely the gas was ordered, well, let’s say it was for the heck of it…..next question…..why wasn’t it received…..now, that’s a loaded question right there! unpaid bills?? another thought but maybe not….maybe. a “hiccup” of sorts with the keeper of the gas?? hmmm….imagine the possibility. imagine this too….a bus is travelling on the street back and forth more often than a private car driver going to work maybe sitting in an office till time to go home, let’s say. still not ok for the bus to run out of gas. public transportation is an essential service…..so are the gas stations. yeah, not ok (especially if you’re on the bus…yikes!)

  6. Really? says:

“again”. but this is an essential service, right? Bernews, can you go straight to the source and ask the “big man” (pun intended) in ferry reach what the problem is please?? no, not the premier whose name is laced through many of these comments but that fella fields down there will have a truthful answer all ready to go…surely he will know if the ball was dropped, whodunnit and how oh how could this happen……”again”.

    • Not buying it says:

If you think you are guaranteed an honest answer from fields you are sadly mistaken.

      • Really? says:

just remembered about this story and wondered how it turned out….

bulls eye!! my point exactly! at least somebody’s paying attention ;-)

  7. JONO says:

No Tikki, no Washy…Gas stations are the suppliers’ bankers…Money to ESSO, dump gas then sell gas..

  8. Really? says:

ummm….it’s after 12….they do have gas now, right??

  9. Concerned Citizen says:

The excuses amaze me! If this was a PLP mp owned business, let alone the Premier, we would have 200 blogs claiming incompetent management and ownership. No lame excuse stating the premier is not involved with the running of his business etc.
What I don’t understand is how the OBA folks in the Banks etc, are not giving cash flow support to their Premier! WTH? IF that is how you are being treated Mr. Premier, then all I can do is SMH!

    • watching says:

      Agree totally!

    • Really? says:

i hear your pain. personally, i’m more than not part of his fan club….(if that clarifies anything). it is true though, he couldn’t be premier and be the commander in chief of the station(s). just like how todd couldn’t be the big man at the chamber of commerce and also step to the plate for political office, etc. etc. just fact of the matter. so don’t let the not there “excuses” amaze you. what is special is how we’re all here expressing and talking amongst ourselves but the lil big fella that should be speaking up and offering the public, to whom the (essential) service is offered, some sort of statement for this repetitive issue is safely and quietly burrowed in his lil hole. that’s what should really amaze you. note whose name is front and center in the news stories “worthy” of statement when it comes to the publicity of “look we gave a donation”…..yup, ask that one.

  10. Nuffin but da Truth says:

My wife never runs outta gas,her chops are always running!

  11. Got gas? says:

There’s got be a hole in the tank ( or something). That’s why I always go to those guys in the green shirts. Always got fuel in dem bies stations. Spoke to one of their managers today, and they said ‘dem guys in de big green trucks never let’s them run out’.
