According to Mrs. Latoya Francis, the head advisor for NHS, “This is more than just being on the honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with the members in the NHS organization since its inception in 1921.”

The 15 students applied to be members and were interviewed by the five co-advisors for the programme.
Mrs. Kalmar Richards, principal of CedarBridge Academy spoke with the students about their role in today’s competitive society. Reminding them that they are no longer only competing against other Bermudians, but against young people around the world, and it is their role and responsibility to themselves and their country to be the best they can be and work toward high standards, because Bermuda is now part of a global community.
