Football: West Pembroke Wins A & B Divisions

October 25, 2013

West Pembroke Primary completed the double winning both the A and B Divisions in the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Primary School Boys Six-A-Side Tournament.

David Blakendal scored in the second half to give West Pembroke’s B team a 1-0 victory over Elliot Primary in the B Final. West Pembroke had defeated Harrington Sound 1-0 in their semi-final through a Milai Perott goal, while Elliot had a scoreless Semi-Final matchup against Gilbert Institute before winning on penalty kicks.

Deandre Warner scored a first half goal to give West Pembroke the lead over Warwick Academy in the A Final. Warwick Academy came storming back in the second half and found an equalizer through Kilae Crockwell. Neither team could find the winner in regulation time.

West Pembroke held their nerve to win in a sudden death penalty shoot-out. West Pembroke defeated Prospect Primary 1-0 in one semi-final with Warner scoring the winner, while Crockwell was also on target in the other semi-final scoring for Warwick Academy in a 1-0 over Somersfield Academy.
