Telegraph’s Best Beach List: Warwick Long Bay
A few months ago Warwick Long Bay was named on a CNN top beaches list, and it is now been included in the Telegraph’s “Best beaches for holidays in the Caribbean” list.
The Telegraph said, “Bermuda’s pink sands make a change from the white and golden bays in the rest of the Caribbean, and Warwick Long Bay is one of the best stretches. Backed by coastal grasses, it is quieter than the better-known Horseshoe Bay.”
The latest comment on the Telegraph’s website addresses the whole “Bermuda/Caribbean” issue, with a Telegraph reader saying, “Bermuda is Mid-Atlantic and not part of Caribbean. Neither is it a full member of Caricom. Warwick Long Bay is a great beach though.”

..wins an award becuase its quiet and un-spoiled. Lets keep it that way and say NO to any beach bar or concession development.
Agree 100% with you. But what a difficult task it is going to be especially with the recent Youth Tourism
Board setting about to commercialize more beaches. Wonder how many people this summer spotted a tiny
beach leading in to Dockyard being given permission to string up hammocks, electricity wires, BBQ and bar on that once beautiful beach? It was a horrendous preview of what could happen to more beaches on the island.
Despite all the bleating about visitors finding Bermuda boring and wanting exciting things to do why not see what it is that the Maldives and Seychelles offer…..
miles of pristine beaches and swaying palm trees with tourists flying thousands and thousands of miles for those sights.
Don’t sell Bermuda’s soul for a fast buck and ruin the most iconic features.
We have some of the best beaches and win tourism awards (Coco Reef) but the tourists do NOT come here!!! Wonder why???
Tourists do NOT want cluttered beaches with rentals and food stands! That failed, happily, when it was tried at Warwick Long Bay, and I know it kept me away from that beach when I saw the vendors there.
The beauty of Bermuda IS it’s pristine , peaceful beaches. I hope there are no plans to destroy the beauty that is left.
Your ordinary middle class tourist can’t afford to bring a family to Bermuda. Coco Reef is beautiful as is Elbow Beach. As a tourist I stayed away from Horseshoe Bay, but found Fort St. Catherine beach needed at least chair and umbrella rental. A tourist can’t bring those items with them and who wants to sit in the sand. Of course that is what we did at beautiful John Smith’s Bay in the 60′s.
I’ve said it before, St. George’s is the place to work on. Open golf course, build nice but not over the top hotels and work on beaches.
