Nov 25th: Employment Act Information Session

November 21, 2013

The Ministry of Home Affairs will host an information session next Monday [Nov 25] with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the Employment Act 2000.

Earlier this summer, the Department of Workforce Development announced that it will host a series of seminars to increase the awareness of the Act for employers and employees.

Monday’s session will take place from 12.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m. in the Training Room of the Department of Workforce Development.

The Minster of Home Affairs Michael Fahy said today, “We launched these educational forums back in June this year with the hopes of ensuring a more informed employer and employee.

“We believe that communication is key in the workplace. Essentially, these sessions are really aimed at fostering good labour relations in general and ensuring and promoting the fair treatment of both employers and employees.”

The Department of Workforce Development advised that space for the upcoming session is limited and interested businesses or individuals should call 297-7714 ext. 1821 or email sstephensl@gov.bm.
