Tennis: Tyler Smith Wins Openers In Bahamas
Tyler Smith began taking part in the Goombay Splash Bowl Junior Tennis Tournament in the Bahamas. Smith is competing in both the Girls Under 18 Singles and Doubles Divisions.
In her opening Singles match Smith defeated Dominique Vasile from the United States in straight sets 6 – 2, 6 – 2.
Smith then teamed up with Nia Rose from Jamaica in the Doubles, the pair had to come from behind to defeat Maria Nobrega from Brazil and Antoaneta Toskova from Canada.
Nobrega and Toskova won the first set 4-2, but Smith and Rose won the second set 4 – 1, they then won the third set tie-breaker 10 – 7.
