Third Woman Charged After Baileys Bay Incident

November 27, 2013

In Magistrates Court today [Nov 27] 22-year-old Dyshantee Crockwell was charged with unlawfully wounding another woman on 9th November 2013.

She was joined into the action already underway against Vanessa Blyden and Chanel Smith who are co-accused in the 9th November incident at the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club, which saw one woman injured.

The offences was deemed indictable, so she did not have to enter a plea. All three accused will be tried in the Supreme Court.

At today’s appearance the original bail conditions were altered. Up to now, Ms Blyden and Smith had been wearing electronic monitoring devices [EMDs] and were under conditions that confined them to their homes 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Their lawyers said that as both women were mothers this bail condition made it impossible for the two mothers to properly look after their children.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner varied all bail conditions. He ordered that all three would wear or continue to wear EMDs, but all were now under a 6:00pm to 6:00am curfew.

Ms Crockwell was granted $10,000 bail with one surety, and the trio of female defendants return to Court for Mention on 11th December.

The point they were making is they should’ve thought of the consequences before those alleged actions “as mothers” think about your kids before you do nonsense. They are lucky they are able to care for their children at all as they could be locked up in jail the entire time instead.
