Update Jan 15, 12.06pm: We have been informed our previous headline was an error and this event is being hosted by the Bermuda Department of Tourism [BDOT], not the Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA], hence we have amended it.

Last year the Government stated that the BTA is “open for business” and is “now responsible for the management of Bermuda’s tourism product…” however apparently this Restaurant Week is under the remit of the BDOT.

From January 17 – February 13th…….restaurant week? Close to a month by my calculations. SMH

    • Ignorance is not Bliss says:

Restaurant “week” in Boston, Mass in 2011 included special lunch menus, as well as dinner and I was able to take advantage of trying different restaurants at a special price.

It is very nice indeed that in Bermuda the special period is extended but for us older folk (and maybe many others), it would be wonderful if special lunch menus could be included in this promotion. If we love the lunch we are likely to return another time for dinner.

  2. Clive Spate says:

Are any of the participating restaurants planning on publishing their menus online?

Last year I had to ask to see the restaurant week menu at most places as they weren’t given out readily.

    • Next says:

No, they never do but expect everyone to show up and take part. If they are trying to shake things up and get more customers they need to promote it better.

  3. Nuffin but da Truth says:

in today’s local economy with many locals watching every cent, this is
doomed to failure from the get go.

  4. Bermuda Male says:

    No KFC?

    • Jess says:

Kfc is a fastfood place …what you want a three course meal with only chicken n fries cause they dont have much

    • Nuffin but da Truth says:

      sorry,no KFC…de biu objected.

  5. X man says:

I occasionally eat at Angeline’s [ Wesley's ] in St,Georges – no fine dinning here’ but the food is very Good – real Bermuda Fish! – say what you want – The Tourist love it.
My friends who visit here from the New York area like going to [1] Angeline’s [2] Black Horse [3] Wahoo’s and the Free Port in
dock yard.- these are people living in the six figure income bracket a year. when they come here there looking for Traditional Bermudian Food.
    Conch Stew,Fish Chowder,Paw Paw Casserole ,Cod Fish and Potato,Shark Hash,Rock Fish,Wahoo,so on.

    • Mamma Mia says:

Thanks for posting. Was wondering why not one St. George’s restaurant is included in the above offers!

  6. Connoisseur says:

Please, let’s call it Restaurant Month or Restaurant Weeks . . . it is a week in some places, but this is closer to a month. Love the idea, but the misnomer makes is annoying. Thanks to all of the participating restaurants for giving customers incentive to dine out. Hope even more restaurants will join in future — for Restaurant Month or Weeks.

  7. Tough Love says:

How did The Beach end up on the same list as Harry’s and The Waterlot?!?

    • Ignorance is not bliss says:

I guess because they are offering a Lobster special (only restaurant to indicate what was on the special menu) and groupings in article are by fixed price not type of establishment.

Assuming no funds coming from taxpayers then I heartily support this initiative ……….. but would still like lunch specials in the ‘Restaurant week’
