Netballers To Travel To Antigua & Barbuda

March 26, 2014

Bermuda will be sending a contingent of four people to the Jean Pierre Tournament/60th Jubilee Celebrations in Antigua & Barbuda departing April 2nd returning April 12th.

Bermuda will play with St. Marten as a mixed team in the Under 16 Division, whilst other teams such as Anguilla and Monserrat will also mix together.

Bermuda Netball Association President Tracey Sharrieff said, “We await confirmation of schedule and other teams attending. Teams are finding it financially difficult to send whole teams to some competitions, hence the idea of mixed teams was put forward for consideration.”

“The event also marks 60 years of netball in the Caribbean, and since Bermuda were defending Champions in 2010 and 2011, it was only fitting that we made an appearance in some way. We will be taking part in the Pageant and Gala Banquet, in an effort to show support.”

The Bermuda contingent consists of Coach/BNA Rep – Kimale Evans and players Satashie Rogers, Zaji Smith and Zakiyah Durham.
