April 25, 2014

Dwayne and Wayne Caines will be hosting a book launch on May 1st at the Book Mart for their newly released book entitled Double Vision.

Published by Spirit Reign Publishing, the book explores the lives of the Caines twins, tackling topics ranging from the general nuances that come with having a twin, to overcoming dyslexia and becoming a teenage father.

Well known throughout the community, Dwayne Caines currently serves as the Police Media Relations Manager, while Wayne Caines is CEO of Digicel Bermuda. The brothers hope the book can help to inspire young people to stay focused and never lose sight of their dreams.

The book’s description says, “Double Vision is a poignant story by twin brothers, Wayne and Dwayne Caines, which chronicles their adventurous journey from childhood to manhood. The book explores the challenges of young men struggling to find their identity and purpose in life.

“It discusses Wayne’s struggle with dyslexia and Dwayne’s challenges as a teen father. There are many anecdotes and tales of mischief and hijinx. You will laugh and cry as you take the journey with them. It is hoped that through their story, they can bring hope and motivation to someone.

“Wayne and Dwayne hail from the beautiful island of Bermuda where Wayne is presently the CEO of Digicel Bermuda and Dwayne is the Public Relations Manager for the Bermuda Police Service. These men have traveled throughout the United States, the Caribbean and parts of Africa bringing messages of hope and inspiration.

“The goal of the book is simple – to motivate young people towards excellence and to encourage them to not allow their past to dictate their future, to encourage parents to never give up on their children and to inspire young men specifically to stay focused and committed and to never lose sight of their dreams.”

The book launch will be held at 6.30pm on May 1st at The Book Mart, and both brothers will be in attendance to sign copies. For more information visit Cainesbrothers.com.

These fella’s come from strong roots….growing up when dark skin was unpopular and when being 1/2 Jamaican was looked down on…. by the majority of us. Mr. and Mrs. Caines should pat themselves on the back…now, about joining that new party ;-)

  8. Truth (Original) says:

The publication of a biography is a classic move for people planning to run for political office. It lets them test the waters before committing.

    • Voice of reason says:

You have no idea what you are talking about!! Just looking for a way to ” start something” how about just being happy for them!!! Have you written a book?……. (Don’t worry I’ll wait)

Go sip your cup of haterade on another post….

    • Artsy Onion Gal says:

I think you’re jealous as perhaps you don’t have an interesting inspiring story to share? FYI Wayne ran a few elections ago.

  11. US Observer in Pink Sand says:

I am pleased that I spent much of my teenage years around these two men. They both played a non-verbal and more often verbal presence in my life, and they probably didn’t realize it. Having such a strong mother and family sometimes goes a long way and having “Zero” tolerance for nothing less than being your very best at all times has its rewards. Thank you both and I look foward to reading your book. You have done well!

  12. SirGov says:

I am encouraged by you guys constantly. I wish you all the best with this publication. We all can benefit from your insights. Mom and Paps Caines have done well.

  13. Congrats! There was obviously some good parenting involved here. Hope their parents write a book to share how they successfully brought up these twins. Nice suits! Look forward to buying a copy on Amazon.

  14. It's ok says:

Dear ‘Heavens’, If you did your homework you would know that Wayne was involved in politics several years ago and assisted to serve the people of Bermuda (as he continues to do so now). No book required for the task.

  15. Chris Famous says:

    Big up family

    Happy Sabbath

  16. Baffled says:

  17. Nathelee Simons says:

Congrats to you both Wayne & Dwayne, and I also acknowledge all the persons who played their important part in making this publication (storybook)a reality. I too have been honored to have met firstly, Mom and daddy Caines, after which of course the twins and have had very pleasant conversations with Wayne, our shared culture of being Jamaica’s always was a highlight, the strict disciplinary factors that’s attached to a having a Jamaican mother with passion of settling for nothing but the best and of course SDA church related convos was a must, we agree to disagree sometimes right:) I look forward to reading and who knows, using this as a ‘self-help’ guide when interacting with not just our son(Tariq) but children on a whole. Thanks for having the ‘vision’ to share your experiences with the ‘world’ God Bless Always.

  18. Artsy Onion Gal says:

Congrats! So looking forward to the book signing on May 1st & bringing the book home to read!
