“Pop-Up Playroom” Opens At Sports Centre

April 25, 2014

The Pop-Up Playroom, a new soft play area for children, has opened in the Sports Pavilion at the National Sports Centre in Devonshire, priced at $15 admission for a parent and child.

A spokesperson said, “Run by The Playroom Limited, the Pop-Up Playroom offers a clean, safe, and fun environment for families with children under five to come and spend time together and with other members of the community.”

“The pop up playroom offers a space dedicated to children under five where they can play in a safe environment, on age appropriate soft play equipment which encourages their gross motor development and socialisation.

“It is a one-of-a-kind space dedicated to babies, toddlers, and young children where you can come and have fun with friends – or come on your own and make some new friends.”

“The pop up playroom is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings regularly, with the hope to add Friday mornings starting soon. The playroom will also “pop up” in other locations from time to time across the island.”

“The price of admission is $15 for one adult and one child and this allows you to stay for the whole morning. Extra children who are walking are $5 each. A punch card of 10 passes is available with one free pass included.

“Visitors can purchase coffee and tea at the pop up playroom, there are changing facilities available for the children, and plenty of free parking. The pop up playroom can also be booked for birthday parties on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, depending on the schedule at the National Sports Centre.”

What happen to the children over 5?

What an absolutely fantastic idea and great to see someone who has taken the initiative to go ahead and do something like this which is badly needed in Bermuda. I personally have already heard those that have gone there rave about it and more importantly, how much their children have loved it.

@ Whistling Frog – did you manage to pull the curtains back, hide the tissues and get dressed out of your underwear before posting such a supportive comment? If you did then well done, maybe today is the day you try starting your own business. Hmmmm! Good luck with that……

@ Smh – I know, what about the children over 5?? Someone really should start up some ballet or dancing classes for them, stuff like that would be perfect for them wouldn’t it….. Maybe the 7 year olds could go out and play rugby with the national team? Why should we band children into different categories, surely a 1 year old is the same as a 7 year old, and a 7 year old is the same as a 27 year old?

Tired of seeing things in the media about people starting new things and all people can post is negativity!

This is a fantastic idea, I can’t wait to go with my little one!

My 3 year old and 7 month old LOVED it! As did I! Such a fun idea and we can’t wait to visit again.
