23 Yr Old Man Charged With Attempted Murder
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [May 14], a 23-year-old man faced charges relating to the shooting in St. David’s last month which left a 28-year-old man injured.
Shannon Dill was charged with the attempted murder of Lionel Thomas on 30th April 2014 and unlawfully using a firearm to commit an indictable offence..
As the charges can only be heard in the Supreme Court, the defendant did not have to enter a plea, and he was remanded into custody by Senior Magistrate Archie Warner.
Following the shooting, Acting Detective Chief Inspector Dave Greenidge said, “Around 2.45am on Wednesday April 30, 2014, police officers responded to a report of gunshots in Cove Valley, St. David’s, St. George’s.
“Officers were directed to a 28-year-old male who was suffering from a suspected gunshot injury to his lower extremities.
“First aid was administered and the male was later transported to the King Edward Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injury, which is not life-threatening.”
