Video: Star Wars Party At Coconut Rock
A video made to commemorate Star Wars-themed parties at Coconut Rock, as well as their organizer, showcases a unique combination of nightlife and modern computer animation in paying homage to both the film series and its island fans.
The video was created by Raymond Burkholder, whose friend, McClain Pimentel, is an avid fan of the Star Wars franchise. Mr. Pimentel is known for organizing a number of special functions at Coconut Rock during his time as a bartender there, including two Star Wars parties.
Mr. Burkholder said, “McClain is a huge Star Wars fan. Up until a month or so ago, he was a bartender at Coconut Rock. He has since moved on to another interesting opportunity. While at Coconut Rock he organized a number of special functions, included a Star Wars party in January 2013. and then another a couple of months ago this year; they were both well-attended.”
“This video and animation was created using the pictures taken during the January 2013 party.
“After one of the parties, McClain was showing some of the pictures. I have been getting into some graphic arts and 3D modelling; to further my skill set, I came up with the idea of doing a slide show of the pictures in a modeled environment of Coconut Rock. And to add a little pizzazz, I added a few Star Wars related models into the animation.
“The interior in the video has been totally modeled by computer. The video was created to do a slide show for McClain and to show off some of my early animation skills.”
