William Freda Joins Hamilton Insurance Board
Hamilton Insurance Group, the holding company of Bermuda-based property casualty reinsurer Hamilton Re, today announced that William C. Freda has joined its Board of Directors. Mr. Freda, former Senior Partner and Vice Chairman of Deloitte LLP, will chair the Board’s Audit Committee.
“It’s a real pleasure to welcome Bill to our Board,” said Hamilton Insurance Group Chief Executive Officer Brian Duperreault. “His knowledge of and experience with the global insurance industry is almost without parallel, and represents an excellent complement to the talent and expertise of our other Board members.

Mr. Freda concluded his distinguished career at Deloitte earlier this year, having worked for the firm for 40 years since his graduation from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. At Deloitte, Mr. Freda served on a wide range of multinational engagements, interacting with clients’ audit committees, boards of directors and senior management to address critical, strategic issues.
Mr. Freda’s many senior positions at Deloitte included Chairman of the Risk Committee and the Audit Committee of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited’s Board of Directors, Managing Partner of Deloitte’s U.S. client initiatives, and Regional Managing Partner of the Northeast, Deloitte’s largest U.S. region.
Mr. Freda is involved in many industry associations and community organizations, including the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation and the Board of Trustees of Bentley University. His commitments include the Financial Women’s Association and the Economic Club of New York.
