Bermuda National Lacrosse Team Named

The Bermuda National Lacrosse Team roster has been revealed online, with 23 players getting set to play seven games over 10 days in the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse [FIL] World Lacrosse Championships in Denver, Colorado.

The tournament will see 38 nations competing in nine divisions, with Bermuda facing Yellow division rivals France, Uganda, and Ireland in its first three matches; those games will take place on July 11, July 12, and July 13, respectively.

According to the tournament’s website, Bermuda was admitted to the FIL in 2006, finishing in 21st position during that year’s tournament. The island team followed up that initial tournament with an improved showing in 2010, finishing in 18th place.

The Bermuda contingent is coached by Steve Colfer, who also lead the team during the 2010 iteration of the tournament.
