One Injured After Motorcycle & Truck Collision

[Updated] At approximately 6:47 am this morning [Sept 11], the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a road traffic collision at the junction of Middle Road and Camp Hill Road, Southampton.

Fire Service spokesperson Sergeant Russann Francis said the Fire Service responded to the incident — which was reported to have collided with a truck — with one vehicle and four personnel, and said the injured person was transported to KEMH via ambulance.

Update 12.49pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 6.50am on Thursday, September 11, first responders were dispatched to a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Camp Hill in Southampton.

“It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road when a truck exited Camp Hill and the vehicles collided.

“The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Warwick man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Ainsworth Grant at the Somerset Police Station on telephone number 234-1010.”
