Philip Micallef Appointed New Air Malta CEO

MT_Philip MicallefPhilip Micallef — the former CEO of the Bermuda Regulatory Authority — has been named the new CEO of Air Malta.

Commenting on this appointment Air Malta Chairperson, Maria Micallef said, “Philip has all the qualities and experience required to take this company forward and will officially take up the post on the 13th October 2014.

“The Board is also working very hard to have a full management team in place in the coming weeks.”

Speaking on his new position, Mr. Micallef said, “I am under no illusions about the challenges that lie ahead but I feel honoured and privileged to have been tasked with such an important role within a company that means so much to me and my country.

“I feel encouraged by the loyalty and resilience displayed by Air Malta’s employees in recent years,” added Mr. Micallef.

Mr. Micallef took up the position in Bermuda in 2012, and resigned in July 2014.
