Two People Injured In Hamilton Parish Collision

[Updated with video] At approximately 12.30pm this afternoon [Sept 29] there was a collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, just east of Coney Island. The collision involved a motorcycle and auxiliary cycle, and as of his writing the road remains closed as the forensic photographer and accident investigator process the scene. It appears that both riders were injured. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update 2.03pm: The police confirmed that both male riders were taken to hospital, and early indications are that one of the injured men is in very serious condition while the other man’s condition is currently unknown.

First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place around 12:30pm Monday, September 29th on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, 10 metres east of Coney Island.

Details at this time are sketchy, but it appears that two motorcycles were being ridden in opposite directions along North Shore Road when they collided.

This resulted in both male riders being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where early indications are that one of the injured men is in very serious condition while the other man’s condition is currently unknown.

The area has been cordoned off while collision investigators examine the scene. This has resulted in significant delays and traffic being diverted along Wilkinson Avenue.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Update 4.33pm: A police spokesperson said, “A 46-year-old man St. Georges man is in critical condition in the ICU with internal injuries and a 55-year-old Devonshire man is in stable condition as a result of the collision.”

Update Sept 30 7.53am: The police have confirmed that the 47 year old man has died.
