$4,500 Donated By Marsh And Guy Carpenter
Marsh and Guy Carpenter announced today [Nov 25] three donations together totalling $4,500 to Summerhaven Residential Home for The Disabled, Agape House and Bermuda Red Cross.
Marsh and Guy Carpenter are wholly owned subsidiaries of Marsh & McLennan Companies [NYSE: MMC], a global professional services firm offering clients advice and solutions in the areas of risk, strategy, and human capital.
“These donations are especially meaningful to Marsh and Guy Carpenter as the recipients were nominated by our employees. Giving back to our community is part of our mantra and all three organisations play a vital role in creating a better Bermuda,” said David Ezekiel, Bermuda Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies and Chairman of Marsh’s Bermuda Charity Committee.
The Summerhaven Residential Home provides independent living for the physically challenged and an opportunity for people with disabilities to be a part of the community rather than be confined indoors. In addition, Summerhaven helps residents to develop the skills that will enable them to attain independent living.
Opening out of a private home in 1990, Agape House is Bermuda’s first and only in-patient hospice. The Agape House provides specialist palliative care service and first-rate end-of-life care, symptom control, rehabilitation, an out-patient clinic and outreach medical services to terminally ill patients. The hospice is owned and run by Bermuda Hospitals Board and supported by the charity, Friends of Hospice.
Founded in Bermuda in 1950, Bermuda Red Cross is a branch of the British Red Cross Society. Its mission is to help the vulnerable and enable the community to prepare and respond to local emergencies. It is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that provides health and social services to the community and is supported through general donations, programme and service fees.
The donations are part of Marsh and Guy Carpenter’s charity work, which also includes an annual Community Giving Day.
