Quebec Nordiques 3 California Golden Seals 4
The Quebec Nordiques took the lead through a Bill Calko goal, however the California Golden Seals drew level with a goal of the stick of Patrick Neal. David Gazzard scored back to back goals to put the California Golden Seals up 3 – 1, but the Quebec Nordiques pulled within one when Kyle Chisholm scored. Adam Chevis restored the California Golden Seals two goal advantage, but the Quebec Nordiques pulled within one whem Jm Tremblay scored, however with no further goals the California Golden Seals defeated the Quebec Nordiques 4 – 3.
Minnesota North Stars 4 Colorado Rockies 2
The Colorado Rockies went in front when Jeff Clair scored, but Joe; Neal equalized for the Minnesota North Stars, a Ed Sweeney goal would give the Minnesota North Stars a 2 – 1 lead and when Cory Caouette scored back to back goal it gave the Minnesota North Stars a 4 – 1 lead, Jace Cowan would pull a goal back for the Colorado Rockies but they went down 4 – 2.
