Football: St. George’s Colts Relegated After Draw
Following a 1-1 draw this past weekend, St. George’s Colts will be relegated as they needed a win to stay in the Premier Division, while other football action saw PHC defeat Hamilton Parish 3-2.
St. George’s Colts 1 Robin Hood 1
After a scoreless first half at the Wellington Oval, the home team St. George’s Colts — who needed a win to stay in the Premier Division — took the lead when Kyle Denbrook found the back of the net, however Antwan Russell leveled the score at 1 – 1 when he scored for Robin Hood.
Russell’s goal saw St. George’s Colts relegated, and he finished level as the Premier Division Leading goalscorer alongside Keston Lewis from the Flanagan’s Onions.
PHC Zebras 3 Hamilton Parish 2
At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras ended the season with a 3 – 2 win over visiting Hamilton Parish.
Na’eem Griffith gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 37th minute, but two minutes later Hamilton Parish were level when Casey Castle scored, Griffith would restore the PHC Zebras lead on the stroke of half time as they took a 2 – 1 lead into the break.
In the 55th minute Shane Hollis drew Hamilton Parish level, but Michael Williams scored what proved to be the winner for the PHC Zebras in the 74th minute.
