Stolen Cars Located, Another Reported Stolen
[Updated] One of the two cars that was reported stolen over the weekend was recovered, however another car has been reported stolen, this time a blue Peugeot 207 hatchback being removed from outside an Ocean Avenue, Devonshire residence.
Blue Peugeot Stolen
A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:15am Monday, June 15th police received a report of a stolen vehicle.
“It appears that a blue Peugeot 207 hatchback bearing license plate number 13354 was removed from outside an Ocean Avenue, Devonshire residence sometime between 9:30pm Sunday, June 14th and 2:30am Monday, June 15th.
Black Chevrolet Spark Stolen
“And police are still seeking the public’s assistance in locating a black Chevrolet Spark bearing license plate number 30382 that was apparently removed from outside a White Sands Road, Paget residence sometime between 10pm Friday, June 12th and 5am Saturday, June 13th.
“Members of the public who may have seen either of these vehicles recently should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.
Stolen Grey Honda CR-V Recovered
“The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a grey Honda CR-V bearing license plate number 47232 reported stolen from Reid Street near the junction with Burnaby Street in the City of Hamilton sometime between 8pm Friday, June 12th and 1am Saturday, June 13th.
“The vehicle was later found around 9am Sunday, June 14th in the Trott Road, City of Hamilton area and impounded by police as inquiries regarding this matter continue.”
Update: Black Chevrolet Spark recovered
Update: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a black Chevrolet Spark bearing license plate number 30382 that was removed from outside a White Sands Road, Paget residence sometime between 10pm Friday, June 12th and 5am Saturday, June 13th.
“The vehicle was later found around 10am today, Monday June 15th at the Botanical Gardens and initially impounded by police as inquiries regarding this matter continue.”
I just have one question. How are these cars been stolen? Are the keys being left in the vehicles (although I doubt EVERYONE whose had their car stolen recently left their keys) or fo these thieves have special tools to help them? I personally believe it would be helpful for the public to know so that they can take extra precautions when securing their vehicles.
