Collision In Southampton, Traffic Being Diverted

Traffic is being diverted in the Southampton area this morning [July 28] due a collision on Middle Road by Five Star Island, which saw a car strike a utility pole, resulting in the pole being in the road.

Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines said that, as of 6.30am, traffic is being diverted in the area.

    I posted this yesterday on the bus shelter that was hit and I’ll post it again and again untill the public, Gov’t and the Police get the message. “When are people gonna start being held accountable for their actions!?This s*** is happening on a regular basis. Does anyone care?”

    • The bus shelter was damaged by a Taxi.
      Vehicles are prohibited from using that lane.
      in accordance with the Road Traffic (Prohibition of use of Road) Order 1981
      as follows:
      Portion of Christ Church Lane Devonshire closed
      2 It is hereby ordered that motorized vehicles are prohibited from
      using that portion of Christ Church Lane in the vicinity of Christ
      Church, Devonshire Parish, where it forms an easterly junction with the
      Middle Road for a distance of 55 feet from the said junction.

    5 Star Island area…AGAIN! Poor driving habits aside, surely the frequency of crashes in that small area must tell somebody at W&E roads division something!!!!!

    The car didn’t hit the pole, it was driven into the pole by it’s driver.
