Youth AC Team Seeking Communications Help

December 7, 2015

The committee managing Bermuda’s Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Team is looking to hire a local communications professional or agency to handle public and media engagement.

The part-time role is being advertised in local media, on the ACBDA website and is being shared with candidates who have submitted to communications-related ACBDA Requests for Proposals in the past.

“Our communications strategy is heavy on public engagement because we believe Team Bermuda will truly be Bermuda’s team,” said Glenn Jones, the committee member responsible for communications.

“We have some creative ideas that we hope the right kind of local talent can help us to enhance and execute.

“Beyond that we’ll need an experienced professional or agency who can represent our team’s communications in a global sporting event.”

The successful applicant will report to the team’s volunteer committee, a sub-committee of ACBDA.

Team Bermuda also has the services of a part-time team manager and will soon engage coaching services.

No public money is allocated to the operation of Team Bermuda. Its volunteer committee is responsible for raising funds from the private sector to support the operation of the team. The soon-to-be hired communications talent will augment fundraising efforts already underway.
