Take care ppl the roads are wet

  2. Bermuda says:

    Hope both parties r ok

  3. i disagree says:

    Hope she pulls through !

  4. karen says:

WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME FOR THIS TO HAPPEN, WITH CARS PARKING OUTSIDE OF THAT SHOP VERY DANGEROUS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARK ALONG THAT ROAD UNABLE TO SEE AROUND THAT CORNER SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THEIR PARKING SITUATION THERE JUST SAYING

  5. From Spanish Point says:

Karen this had nothing to do with cars parked at the shop. This car was traveling towards Spanish Point and there were no cars around. If people drive the speed limit there would be no issue. Truly hoping this young lady makes a full recovery.

    • It’s still a dangerous stretch. I live on that street and it is a challenge to pull out as you cannot see vehicles coming if there is a car parked out front of the shop. Very frustrating.

    • whose on third says:

It is a danger and accident waiting to happen by that wholesale outlet. Take responsibility and stop blaming the drivers. It’s a residential area

  6. concerned says:

I hope that this young lady will be alright. In my humble opinion though I wish something can be done about this corner. It is extremely dangerous that cars park on the road to shop at the store there, therefore causing other vehicles to overtake them on the otherside of the road on a corner! There have been many close calls and there’s been a few accidents here since this store has opened. I wonder if anything can be done to help prevent these accidents… like say park somewhere else… or have the shop create parking for its patrons. Just a thought, and again I hope that this young lady will be alright and make a full recovery.

    • Lynn says:

I hate to correct you but my husband and I have been running this little shop for eight years and there has only been one accident due to a car parked outside the shop and that was because a gentleman was riding a pedal bike with his head down and ran into the back of a car. You need to get your facts straight before posting your opinion on such a well read web sight. It only goes to show your lack of knowledge. if people slowed down there would be less accidents – you can see from Selleys hill all the way past the shop. Government very nicely cut the trees down that were very badly overgrown in order to have a better view on the corner.

      • The Bigger Picture says:

The bigger picture is that she’s ok. You don’t know the circumstances of the incident nor if she was speeding. I’m the young lady’s sister and find this comment awfully offensive. You all are so quick to jump to and judge people. Slow ya role and send up a prayer!

        • WOW says:

WOW..who said she was speeding? It was a wet day..could’ve even been an oil spill. You don’t know the circumstances! This comment is EXTREMELY disrespectful.

        • Get your facts straight says:

I know for a fact that she was speeding as I was coming out of Spanish point and she was coming into Spanish Point. (she passed me at Point mart) I know its hard to accept when someone close to you does something foolish but it is what it is and I do truly hope she recovers fully. Now say sorry to the people you’ve judged, as I found your comment offensive.

        • NIcky says:

You are heartless, If you are so perfect why are you here on earth with we common folk? Obviously, you are a perfect driver!!! I THINK NOT1!!! I hope you never have to go through the pain this family is going through. INCONSIDERATE person that you are.

        • N says:

You need to better allocate YOURSELF!

        • CatchYourself says:

Losing control of a vehicle doesn’t automatically mean speeding.. It’s not rocket science.. It’s unfortunate that some lads don’t think before they speak..

      • Jim says:

I respectfully disagree with your opinion, I drive through there everyday and the view around the corner is very unsafe, not to mention cars are parked there ILLEGALLY.

      • Try to pull out the lane and turn towards Point when you have a car or truck in front of your shop. Especially mornings. It’s almost impossible to see any oncoming traffic from that direction. SO many times I HOLD down my horn and inch out into the street hoping that someone will take caution and stop. Most people don’t!

  7. Susan says:

This car was coming towards Point? I think not! Someone WILL get seriously hurt soon at this stop. Mark my word.

  8. maybe-maybe not says:

i agree if this accident was not caused by a customer parking at T&L it will only be a matter of time. I live in Spanish point and travel across there a couple times a day. Its actually annoying. I think govt needs to try and assist working with the rances wouldn’t want nothing to happen to there business.

  9. Hurricane says:

Parking along this stretch of road has nothing to do with accidents. The only thing parking there does is cause frustration.

  10. TMI says:

Why are there comments about cars parked along the side of that store? One thing always leads to another you people are crazy. We can clearly see the car struck the side of the road and it says it was a single vehicle accident. We don’t know any other details. These things happen, somebody or something could have distracted her or whatever! And Bermuda, who said there are 2 parties involved?

  11. Columbus says:

People who park outside of the store park legally as there is a white center line. People know that there is every likelihood that there will be cars parked along that road and people may be driving around them and should adjust their speed and take care in that area. It’s like when you see a taxi driving along – to be safe, you have to almost expect that they will do a sudden U turn or stop suddenly or make a turn without indicating.

  12. R says:

With all respect. Living in Spanish point and traveling to work everyday I can attest that having cars park on the side of the road like that is extremely dangerous. No matter if i’m going fast or slow it is always a guessing game with who will overtake and who has the right away. Personally I have nearly got injured as well as seen MULTIPLE people come off of there bikes or had to slam breaks. Its not a matter of only slowing down but how to get these cars to stop parking where they clearly shouldn’t be.

  13. AD says:

I have one of these exact same cars and they do NOT handle the roads well in wet weather (the rd was wet when this happened) and word is, there were NO cars parked on this stretch when the accident happened. So I would say it was an unfortunate circumstance. Bickering needs to stop and people need to look at the most important part here…which is a young girl lost control of her car and is fighting for her life. Praying that she pulls through and for Bermudians to turn more to prayer instead of finding fault in every situation.

    • Keepin' it Real!...4Real! says:

Her sister said that she was ok…you say she’s fighting for her life…so what is it??

      • really? Idiot says:

It clearly states she’s in ICU…. Therefore she may be ok but there is still something wrong with her. Her condition may keep changing, who knows. Read more & talk sh*t less, thanks.

      • Friend says:

“Keepin’ it Real!…4Real!” or whoever you claim to be, if you have nothing NICE or RESPECTFUL to say then keep your comments to yourself. No matter what the situation is this young girl who happens to be my friend has been in a bad ACCIDENT and is in ICU trying to recover. Either send a prayer for her, respect the feelings of her family and loved ones, or keep it moving because there is simply no need for your disrespectful heartless comments here. Find time for other things maybe..

  14. NIcky says:

Something has to be done about the parking along this shop. Lynn, you need to give up some land to make it safe. I have seen times when there are 6 cars parked and by the time I get to the third car, someone is coming in the opposite direction. We folks in the neighbourhood need to sign a petition and send a formal complaint so that if anyone has a collision as a result of parking. We can hold the store owner responsible. Yes, this accident had nothing to do with the shop THIS TIME, but several people have had near misses and it will happen soon, due to the terrible parking situation. You’ve had 8 years of LUCK.

  15. just saying says:

First of all I was one of the first ppl there and the girl was not speeding the roads were wet and she just lost control. Any way I hope the girl gets better soon.

  16. swing voter says:

i kno a little bit about how a 5000 lbs car can end up in this condition on wet road facing the opposite direction after failing to successfully negotiate a corner

hope she makes a full recovery
