Photos & Video: Fourth Day Of Demonstration
The protests regarding the ‘Pathways’ immigration proposal continued today [March 16] for the fourth day, with crowds of people gathering at the House of Assembly grounds as well as marching through the streets of Hamilton on two occasions.
The protests have resulted in a withdrawal of labour, with garbage collection, ferry service and bus service all suspended on Friday, Monday, Tuesday and again today, and with people planning to gather again tomorrow, the interruption of services is likely to continue.
.
The U.S. Consulate issued a statement alerting U.S. citizens to “continuing protests in Hamilton” and said while the “demonstrations have been largely peaceful” they “urge citizens to avoid areas of demonstrations, and ask that they exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.”
