‘Feed My Sheep’ Provides Free Lunch Boxes
Emmanuel Baptist Church [EBC], under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Georgette Prime Godwin, held their first “Feed My Sheep Ministry” this week, providing free healthy lunch boxes to the community.
A spokesperson said, “EBC’s ‘Feed My Sheep Ministry’ derived from a prophetic word spoken over Pastor Prime-Godwin by one of our senior evangelists who has since returned to Jamaica. She implored the Pastor to ‘feed my sheep.’”
“In providing the lunch boxes, EBC discovered that the need from the community was tremendous. They fed approximately 57 primary school students. EBC contacted several schools and, in one instance, the teacher who received the lunches for her students stated that they [teachers] have been taking their personal money to buy food items for their students.
“She was brought to tears with gratitude from this unexpected call. Another gentleman said he had just been made redundant and this was a God-send.”
Pastor Prime-Godwin said, “The need in our community is greater than we thought. The objective of the Feed My Sheep Ministry is to truly meet the needs of our community.
“We have a couple of empty rooms in our Founder’s Hall and our intention is to prepare them as a pantry for non-perishable items, clothing, etc, so that persons by way of an appointment may come and select what they need, without any strings attached.
“Everyone who received yesterday was amazed that they were not asking for donations! And almost everyone, once they received their lunch was calling back to us with, “May God Bless You!”
“EBC was tremendously delighted and thankful that a few cast members from Up With People [UWP] came by the church to assist them with preparing and distributing the lunch boxes.
“Chelsea from the USA began questioning the motive behind this ministry and was amazed that they would take the time to do something like this and was definitely happy to be a part of it. The UWP cast members who assisted came from the USA, Mexico and Holland.
“Pastor Prime-Godwin is an alumnus of UWP and toured with Cast E during 1979-1980. UWP will be performing at the Ruth Seaton James Centre, CedarBridge Academy on Thursday 28th, Friday 29th at 7.00pm and two shows Saturday the 30th at 2.00pm and 7.00pm.”
“EBC would like to thank the various partners and volunteer that made this first initiative successful.”

Nice, it’s an absolutely nice gesture…Thanks for the compassion etc.
Nice to see them get on board with all the other churches that have feeding programs. The more the better.
Well done, well done, hopefully such an effort can be continued to the end of the school year, and those who are in a position to assist can contact the church. Praise God.
