BEF Equestrian Championship Awards Presented

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation [BEF] held its annual prizegiving dinner on Saturday [June 4] at the Port O Call restaurant.

BEF Championship winners from over 30 different categories were presented Championship awards, which were determined from accumulated points acquired during the 2015/16 show season.

Presenting the awards were Ian Truran, President of the Bermuda Equestrian Federation and two of the Bermuda Equestrian Federation’s founding members, Ann Lindroth and Mary Frances Gaglio.

Courtney Bromby was awarded The DeCosta Construction Ltd. Trophy as the junior competitor achieving the most points overall. Bromby also secured the Raymond White Memorial Trophy, the Inwood Tucker Homeslice Trophy, the Starstruck Trophy and the China Doll Trophy for the junior gaining the most showjumping points on the same horse.

Once again, “Emerson” owned and ridden by Philip Correia was awarded the Seaview Jumper Trophy and the Deepwood Sparkle Trophy. This team also took home the Saddle Club Trophy for Champion Senior Hunter horse, the Hinson Hall Trophy for Champion Working Hunter over 15.2hh and the Little Orvy Trophy for the most consistent show jumping horse.

The Shalimar Trophy was presented to Casey Truran riding De La Vega. This trophy is awarded to the junior competitor riding the same horse in all competitions, apart from in hand classes. Truran also secured the Richfield Trophy and the BHPA trophy as the Champion Junior Equitation in the 14 -18 age division.

The Skippy Trophy for the Pony with the most overall points was awarded to “Don’t Blink” owned by Nicholas Lopes, while the Jenerations Debut Trophy for the Horse with the most points was awarded to “Face Off” owned by Eleanor Cox and Mary Frances Gaglio.

The Inwood Trophy was awarded to Kirista Rabain as the adult competitor with the most points overall. Rabain also secured the BEF Trophy as Champion of the adult equitation division. This year’s Coach Award was presented to Mary Frances Gaglio who was also the recipient of the Welcome Home Spirit Award.

The Stable Award was presented to Hinson Hall Stables. Carol Bromby was presented with the President’s Award. Results of award winners for all BEF’s 2015/16 year-end champion awards are attached.
