Photos: Edward Cross Long Distance Race

[Updated] The annual Edward Cross Long Distance Comet Race got underway today [June 20], with the fleet of boats leaving from St George’s Harbour late this morning to make their way across the length of the island to finish at the West End Boat Club in Sandys.

The race is still underway as of this writing, and we will update as able, and in the meantime a photo gallery is below.

Update: Stephen Dickinson and Pat Young claimed the 2016 Edward Cross Long Distance Race title in a a time of 5:34:19. Right from the start the race looked as if it was going to be an all-day affair, and the way the winds shifted, dropped out, picked up and then dropped out again it proved to be just that.
