Kiskadees Are Women’s Knockout Champions
The Kiskadees were crowned the Bermuda Football Association’s 2016 Women’s Summer League Knock Out Cup Champions at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence Field, following a penalty shootout win over the Longtails.
The Longtails’ Cheyra Bell scored a thunderous long range effort with the last kick of the game to send the finals into the penalty shootout out.
The Kiskadees had taken the lead in the first half through Cleshannay Darrell-Virgil, however the Longtails equalized in the second half through Rayni Maybury.
Tshana Wade restored the lead for the Kiskadees before Bell leveled the match with her spectacular effort.
Chelsea Harvey stood tall in goal for the Kiskadees and saved the Longtails second effort which proved to be the difference as the Kiskadees overcame all odds to win the Knock Out Cup.
Bell and Harvey were named MVPs for their respective teams.
The Herons defeated the Cahows 6-5 in the third place match. Shuntae Todd scored four while Jessica Furtado scored two for the winners. Khyla Brangman scored a hat-trick for the Cahows with Symira Lowe Darrell scoring the other two.
