Running Event Set To Support Special Olympics

Children, schools, teachers, clubs, footballers, cricketers, running organizations, and companies are being asked to come on out on Saturday, September 10 to attend a fund raising event for the Special Olympics Bermuda.

A spokesperson said, “This is the first of three fund raising events, starting from St. George’s Square to Kindley Field Road. Running on behalf of the Special Olympics will be the Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Fire & Rescue, and the Department of Corrections to City Hall, Hamilton.

“Parents and/or family members are asked to meet their child/children at the Kindley Field Road to transport them to City Hall while the other participants continue to the run to City Hall in Hamilton.

“All participants will run/walk from City Hall to the Bermuda Fire Station, where once again, Parents and/or Family member[s] are asked to collect their child/children at the Bermuda Fire Station and transport them to The Arboretum on Montpelier Road.

“Once all participants have arrived, family, friends, athletes, neighbors, everyone, will walk/run to the Bermuda Police Field to light the TORCH. Upon completion of event, there will be a Family Fun Day from 12:00pm – 6:00pm on the field.”
