BHS Students Achieve “Outstanding Results”
The Bermuda High School [BHS] has announced its GCSE/IGCSE results for the academic year 2015/2016, with the group achieving A grades “well above” the average for girls in the United Kingdom.
A spokesperson said, “Top scorer Ali Boylan received 8A* and 3A grades. 83% of all GCSE/IGCSE grades received by BHS students this year were A*-C.
“The percentage of A* and A grades earned by BHS girls was 36%, well above the 26% achieved by all girls in the UK. 85% of our students sat 9 to 11 GCSE/IGCSE examinations while the remainder sat 6 to 8 examinations.”
Head of School Linda Parker said, “I am very proud of these excellent results. We had a 100% pass rate in the individual subjects and I am particularly pleased with the high percentage of A* and A grades.”
“These results are an affirmation of our long history of academic excellence, and of our mission at The Bermuda High School for Girls of educating young women to the highest international standards and fostering confident, resilient and responsible global citizens.”
“The following students achieved the highest number of A* and A grades: Ali Boylan – 8A*, 3A; Brianna Correia and Megan Lau – 7A*, 4A; Mollie O’Donnell 7A*, 3A, 1B and Calais Darrell 4A*, 6A, 1B.”
Mrs. Parker added, “We congratulate our students for these outstanding results. Our Year 11 student body as a whole deserves our congratulations, having proven that self-discipline, hard work and determination lead to academic success.
“I would also like to recognise and thank our dedicated teachers who have encouraged and challenged the students to aim high and exceed expectations.”
