KFC Teams Up With Red Cross For Halloween
Following the success of last year’s Halloween promotion, KFC announced that they will once again partner with Bermuda Red Cross to sell Treat Voucher booklets at their Queen Street, Hamilton location.
A Red Cross spokesperson said, “Bermuda Red Cross is thrilled to be partnering with KFC again this year.
“While the traditional giving of candies and chocolate is easy for most people over Halloween, we feel the Treat Voucher booklets provided by KFC gives families alternative choices during this celebrated event.
“It is a creative and unique idea and if you don’t get trick or treaters at your house, you can buy the Treat Vouchers for your own children.
“Monies raised from this promotion will be used to enhance the lives of those we serve in the community through our Disaster Risk Reduction program, our Transport and Equipment Rental services, our various Trainings and our support of the Golden Hour Club.
“While KFC Treat Vouchers come with limited conditions — One voucher can be redeemed by any child 12 years of age or younger on each visit to KFC. Vouchers are valid from November 1st, 2016 through January 31st, 2017 – they represent terrific value when compared to other traditional Halloween treats.”
Mr. Jason Benevides, Vice President of KFC Operations, comments: “Seasonal treat vouchers, in support of charities, is a popular offering in North American restaurants. We decided to bring the concept to Bermuda last year, which proved to be very well received.
“Through this promotion, KFC was able to donate $1,000 to Bermuda Red Cross, who does great work in the local community. After last year’s sell out of Treat Vouchers, we have increased the quantity available this year which we hope will allow us to raise even more funds for the Bermuda Red Cross”.
Ms. Ginene McSwain, General Manager of KFC, says: “The process is simple. Each voucher entitles a child to a free treat–their choice of a cookie, an apple turnover, or an order of French fries.
“Through the month of October, or while supplies last, booklets can be purchased for only $1. 100% of every dollar raised, through booklet sales, will be contributed to Bermuda Red Cross”.
