Saltus Adjusts Hours Due To Hurricane Nicole

October 11, 2016

Saltus Grammar School will close early tomorrow [Oct 12] and will not be open on Thursday [Oct 13] or Friday [Oct 14] due to Hurricane Nicole.

A spokesperson said, “The school will close in a staggered manner tomorrow to prevent – as much as possible – traffic congestion at the St. John’s Rd campus.

“Pick-up times are as follows:

  • FY – 11.30am – 12.00pm
  • S1 – 11.30am – 11.45am
  • S2- 11.40am – 12.00pm
  • S3 – 11.45am
  • S4 – 12.00pm
  • S5 – 12.15pm
  • S6 – 12.30pm
  • S7 – SGY2 between 12.45pm and 1.45pm

“It is hoped to have the campuses clear of students by 2.00pm in order that maintenance staff can ensure the property is secured in readiness for the storm; and to allow them to get home safely and secure their own homes.

“At this stage, although obviously closed on Thursday, we will also not be open on Friday, as the prediction is for a slow-moving storm. We will need to get into the campus and determine that it is safe for us to re-open. It does not look as if that will be possible until Friday. Should this change in any way we will be in touch through the TV, radio, news websites and social media.

“It is our intention to open on Monday – again, should we not be able to, we will contact you as best we can. Our very best wishes through these next few days. These storms bring their issues, but also bring out the best in Bermuda’s residents.”
