Middle Road & Montpellier needs a traffic light.

Don’t know why this comment has so many dislikes. This intersection is a nightmare during peak traffic times and can be difficult to navigate even when traffic is light. The length of Middle road view-able from Montpelier is fairly short, you cant see who’s coming just over the hill or just around the corner. Traffic lights might be quite useful in this spot.

Where does it say there was speed involved? I will admit that it is a possibility but sometimes an accident, is just an accident. I have been involved in an accident because a dog ran across the street and knocked my tire just enough to knock me into an oncoming car.

    • Hurricane says:

Dog, chicken, cat or whatever more often than not it’s excessive speed involved. And even if it wasn’t the case in this accident, there can me no harm in saying…………..Slow down people!

At that particular junction, most times everyone is trying to either turn or come out of that gate in a hurry. Let me beat that car out No let ME beat that car out. You need to pay close attention at that particular junction

Hurricane, I would rather people pay attention when they ride and drive. Also, I am not sure what you mean by excessive speed as the speed limit is 35 kph – which nobody adheres to… Is 40 kph ok or is that excessive? On a general note – bike riders as they head east along Middle Road, approaching Montpilier tend to tuck into the nearside for some odd and dangerous reason. They should be closer to the centre line so that vehicles trying to enter Middle from Montpilier can see them sooner! Again – paying attention (and riding and driving sensibly) is most important.
