Dillas & Walikraam Win Golf Match Play Titles
The final round of the Bermuda Amateur Match Play Championships at the Mid Ocean Club saw defending champions Jarryd Dillas and Tariqah Walikraam both successfully defend their titles.
Dillas found himself down 4 after the first 18 holes to Arthur Jones. A gutsy performance right out of the gate in the second 18 saw Dillas up by 1 with nine holes to play. Dillas continued his steady play was able to close out Jones to claim the title 4 & 3.
Walikraam was facing Katrin Burnie for the Ladies title. She built a lead of four after the first 18 holes and after a short break she continued to control the match. Despite the windy conditions both ladies played some strong shots, but Walikraam proved to much for Burnie as she closed out the match winning 5 & 4.
The Senior Division winner was Gary Carr, he needed 19 holes to finish off the challenge of Lynn Shackelford. The winner of the Open First Flight was Ann Symonds over Walter Jackson.
