Court: Woman Charged With Importing Cannabis

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 27-year-old woman was charged with allegedly importing cannabis, which the Court heard had an alleged street value of $268,325.

Greta Lightbourne was not required to plead as her case can only be dealt with in the Supreme Court.

Ms Lightbourne was charged with importing cannabis in November 2016, and possessing cannabis that was intended for supply.

Questioned by the Magistrate, the Crown Counsel told the Magistrate that cannabis was alleged to have a street value of $268,325.

The Magistrate set Ms Lightbourne’s bail at $20,000, and ordered that Ms Lightbourne surrender all her travel documents, not leave this jurisdiction, report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and attend the 1st June Supreme Court Arraignments.
