Bermuda Sailors Begin Competing In Thailand

Top youth sailors from the 62 countries participating in the Optimist World Championship  took to the waters in a long-awaited start to what will be eight days of competition.

Excited and focused on doing their best, they had to contend with a strong tide, unfamiliar conditions for many, and a sudden rainstorm that closed the day.

The Bermuda team was led by Christian Ebbin who ended the day 114th with 67 Net Points after finishing 44th and 23rd.

Eight places back is Rian Geraghty-McDonnell Green who has 70 Net Points after he recorded finishes of 51st and 19th.

Jordan Etemadi is in 148th with 83 Net Points after recording finishes of 44th and 39th, while Sebastian Kempe is in 189th with 98 Net Points and Jack Hildebrand is 251st with 126 Net Points.
