North Village Rams, PHC Zebras, Devonshire Cougars, Robin Hood, Paget Lions, Southampton Rangers, Wolves, and BAA claimed victories in this weekend’s Friendship & Shield Quarter-Finals football action.

Friendship Quarter-Finals

North Village Rams 3 Dandy Town Hornets 2

At the Bernard Park, the North Village Rams defeated the Dandy Town Hornets 3 – 2, Keishen Bean gave the North Village Rams the lead in the 7th minute. Damon Ming would equalize for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 48th minute, but Jecoa Thomas would put the North Village Rams back in front with a goal in the 66th minute, Shayne Hollis would make it 3 – 1 to the North Village Rams in the 89th minute, but Ian Coke would find the back of the net in the 90th minute, but time would run out on the Dandy Town Hornets.

PHC Zebras 2 Somerset Trojans 0

After a scoreless first half at the PHC Stadium, Darren Usher gave the PHC Zebras a 1 – 0 lead over the Somerset Trojans, and when Cecoy Robinson scored in the 90th minute the PHC Zebras advanced to the Semi-Final draw with a 2 – 0 win over the Somerset Trojans.

Devonshire Cougars 4 Flanagan’s Onions 0

At the Devonshire Rec. Chae Brangman set the Devonshire Cougars on their way to a 4 – 0 win over the Flanagan’s Onions when he scored in the 2nd minute when a ball played over the top, saw him outrun the defense and slipped past the keeper, Brangman would double the lead in the 42nd minute, Allan Douglas would score his first goal in the green and gold outfit in the 50th minute and in the 84th minute Jawonday Smith earned them the big win.

Robin Hood 4 [3] X-Road’s 4 [1]

This Quarter-Final match went down to the wire with Robin Hood advancing with kicks from the penalty mark.

Jahmel Swan scored twice for X-Road’s as the led 3 – 0 after 35 minutes, with Kahmori Brangman adding the other. Robin Hood stormed back with an own goal, an Antwan Russell and Shakir Smith strikes to send the game into extra time.

Mackih McGowan would give X-Road’s the lead again, but Lejuan Simmons equalized sending the game to the kicks, which Robin Hood would win 3 – 1.

Shield Quarter-Finals

Devonshire Colts 2 Paget Lions 4

At the Bernard Park, the Paget Lions made their intentions known from the kickoff against the Devonshire Colts, when Dion Stovell’s shot was tipped over the bar for a corner from the start. Travis Wilkinson put Paget ahead in the 25th minute, Stovell would double the score in the 29th minute. In the 53rd minute Demarlo Curtis found the back of the net to give the Paget Lions a 3 – 0 lead, but the Devonshire Colts would stage a fightback. Vernell Lambe scored in the 57th minute and then Eli Smith scored in the 74th minute to bring them within one, but Stovell would end the game as a contest when he scored in the 87th minute.

Southampton Rangers 2 Somerset Eagles 1

At the PHC Stadium, the Southampton Rangers advanced to the Semi-Finals with a 2 – 1 win over the Somerset Eagles. The Somerset Eagles opened the scoring when Dane Simmons scored in the 16th minute, the Southampton Rangers equalized in the 64th minute when Donte Brangman scored and then 4 minutes later they got what proved to be the winner as Isaiah Taylor scored.

Wolves 2 St. George’s Colts 1 – After Extra Time

In this Shield match at the Devonshire Rec, Wolves defeated the St Georges Colts 2 – 1 after Extra Time. Lamelle Paynter gave Wolves the lead in the 12th minute, however the St. George’s Colts drew level in the 65th minute when Kodi Carlington scored.

The match went into Extra Time and in the 101st minute, Vincent Minors scored for Wolves.

Ireland Rangers 0 BAA 5

At the BAA Field BAA defeated Ireland Rangers 5 – 0, Morrico Iris gave BAA the lead in the 8th minute, an own goal 11 minutes later made it 2 – 0. Tyrrell Burgess would make it 3 – 0 in the 48th, before Marcus Brannan scored in the 56th minute to put BAA up 4 – 0, Burgess closed out the scoring in the 88th minute.
