“What Keeps Directors Up At Night?” Seminar
Oyster consultants, Henry Komansky and Michelle Cardwell were panelists during the seminar “What Keeps Directors Up at Night?”, which was moderated by Rochelle Simons, who is the chair of the Institute of Directors Bermuda branch.
This seminar jointly sponsored with Freisenbruch-Meyer Group explored the challenges Directors face, including personal liability and increasingly complex roles, and the insurance perspective.
Henry Komansky spoke of the duties of a Director around compliance and money laundering, the Bribery Act and data protection.
He is an attorney with 10 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specializing in compliance and anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing [AML/CFT], and also regularly conducts popular training sessions on Bermuda’s Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing requirements.
Michelle Cardwell, an industry professional for over ten years, addressed the duties of a Director, third party service providers, Director training and Director annual evaluations.
She is a Certified Compliance Officer, holds a MBA, and was awarded her Certificate in Company Director [CERT IoD] in June 2016. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Bermuda IOD Branch.
“We were delighted with the high level of interest in this topic and to partner with Freisenbruch-Meyer on this initiative,” said Alison Morrison, Managing Director of Oyster Bermuda.
“Having experts from Arthur J. Gallagher present alongside our team really tied everything together and highlighted the importance of insurance not only for Directors and Officers but protection from cyberattacks”
